Unwind Counselling - A Safe Space for Your Journey
Compassionate and empathetic integrative counselling for adults, and older teenagers, based in Norden, Rochdale.
For individuals or couples.
Open to clients of all ages, backgrounds, communities, genders and sexual preference.

Person Centred Approach
My integrative counselling approach is based around person centred principles, with elements of CBT, narrative therapy and coaching, as appropriate. We will establish a therapeutic relationship in which I will offer you empathetic and non-judgmental support, tailored to your unique situation. I will provide a safe, peaceful space for you to explore your feelings and reactions.
Coaching Techniques
Sometimes, when one becomes trapped in a routine, it might be necessary to make changes in one's life. In addition to counselling, where appropriate, and upon agreement with the client, I can also incorporate coaching techniques to help you identify and reach your personal goals. We can explore your reactions and feelings in your current situation and work collaboratively to help you move to where you want to be. Together, we can work towards you achieving a more fulfilling life.
Holistic
Sometimes, when we are in the midst of emotional turmoil, it can be difficult to see beyond our current circumstances, and we can become trapped in unhealthy and unhelpful routines. In counselling, I can help you to see a wider perspective, and open up alternative ways of thinking about things. It is important to look at the big picture, so in your sessions we can consider the impact of lifestyle choices such as sleep, exercise, stress and eating habits on your mental health.

Experienced Counsellor
Before moving into private practice, I worked in various counselling settings, first working as a grief counsellor, and later in a setting with more diverse issues, such as anxiety, depression, identity and body image issues, relationship issues and LGBTQ issues. I have also worked with people on end of life pathway.
My background is in education, and I have 20 years plus experience of mentoring and working with both adults and young adults and also people with specific learning needs (most specifically autism and ADHD).
About Me
Unwind Counselling provides integrative counselling and coaching services for adults facing challenges such as depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, gender and body image related problems and relationship difficulties. My counselling provides a confidential, safe and supportive environment where you can explore your concerns, gain self-awareness and work towards a more fulfilling life.
I feel really passionate that people are able to get the help that they need. Everyone deserves to be heard and valued, and needs somebody that they can trust to talk to; I can be that person.
I continually engage in professional development and keep up to date with developments in mental health, attending workshops whenever I get the chance. I have recently completed an MSc. in Psychology (conv.) and am part way through a course on nutrition. I am also working towards qualifications in massage and reflexology.
